Sometimes you make something, and it tastes so good, but there's something off. The presentation. All cooking shows have told us, you will be judged 50% on taste, and 50% on presentation. Well, this can make any dessert the prize winner. Here's how it's done:
Ingredients:
8 ounces water
8 ounces sugar
pinch of salt
Cover a cookie sheet in parchment paper and set it aside. Put all the ingredients in a small pot, and put them on the stove on medium heat, watching it carefully. Shake the pan every once in awhile to stir. When the mixture turns turns amber, turn off the heat and move the pot to a cooling rack. Get your cookie sheet and a wooden spoon. Get a little caramel on the spoon, and drizzle it on the parchment. You can make all sorts of patterns of all shapes and sizes. Let the designs cool fully, and then simply peel them off the paper.
