Hey Viewers, Wolfy and Wonka here! Today we've come to discuss a topic that we both agree is very important. Recently we have heard that many of the larger chocolate producing companies such as Mars, Hershey, and Nestlē have been using child slave labor as a way of cutting costs during the production of chocolate. Children are sometimes kidnapped, sold by relatives, or go into the jobs to support their families, being told that it pays well. In reality, the children are often payed 2 dollars a day, if anything at all, and are forced to use machetes, which are extremely dangerous, large, and heavy. They spray the trees with industrial chemicals while wearing no protection, and sleep on wooden boards with no access to sanitary bathrooms or clean water. Though many of the children exposed to this are 12 to 16, children have been found who are as young as five. They may never see their families again, and many stay on the farms through adulthood with no education. Please look at the links below to learn more and donate to help stop child slavery in the chocolate industry.
Sometimes we all need a little something quick and easy to sooth our sweet tooth. That's why my mother invented Mom's Special Cookies. These are a great ten minute treat with only two ingredients. Though they're not great for on the go (they tend to melt), they make an awesome super-speed stay at home dessert.
Ingredients: (serves 4) 1/4 Cup peanut butter 2 Tbsp chocolate chips (semisweet or milk chocolate preferred) Cereal (Optional) Put the peanut butter and chocolate chips in a small microwave safe container. Set the microwave for 1 minute, stirring every 15 seconds. When the when the chocolate chips have completely melted, take out of the microwave and stir in cereal. The best types of cereal are basic, like Crispix or Corn Flakes. Mix the cereal until it is fully coated in chocolate. Then put about a spoonful of the mixture onto the tinfoil. They don't spread, so you may put them as close together as you like. Open your freezer and put the tinfoil and cookies in. Wait for about ten minutes and enjoy! Last night Wolfy and I made some superb chocolate ice cream. Wolfy, having eaten most of the ice cream already, said it was missing something. I agreed. Sensing a perfect moment for invention. we opened the fridge and there it was. Cookie dough. we grabed what was left and shoved it the microwave with a little cream and peanut butter. The result was unmatched deliciousness. Here's how you can make it:
Ingredients: (add more or less of each based on your preferences) 1 cup cookie dough for every 5 cups ice cream. 2 tablespoons peanut butter 2 tablespoons heavy cream or half and half put all ingredients in a small microwave safe bowl. microwave for 1 minute, mixing with a spoon every 20 seconds. pour over any basic ice cream flavor and enjoy. (Best served warm) Hello, in this blog, we are going to be posting some pretty crazy home-made recipes (but sweets only!). You can expect to see a new recipe about once or twice every week, though we can't promise it'll be ALL recipes. We have a tendency to go off topic. We both believe that chocolate is the answer, and we hope that after seeing this blog, you will too. Thank you so much to our followers, we appreciate you all!
